Hello there! I'm Lori.

Think of me as an ally in your corner, ready to help you make the most of your time, so you become the happiest person you know!

For over 20 years, I have coached and trained professionals at all levels, from front line employee to senior executives. I earned a B.A. in Education from Georgetown College and have experience working in the corporate world focusing on leadership and employee development. What has helped me the most as a coach and in my own life are the tools that I learned through my extensive training at Coach U and the center for Coaching Certification.

Prior to becoming a coach, I remember feeling absolutely lost in life. in fact, I spent most of my 20s and early 30s thinking " Is this all there is?" For years I waited for some magical moment where all the stars would align. It wasn't until I started coaching school in 2009 that I cracked the code on life satisfaction. It had nothing to do with overachieving, getting straight As, or knowing the right people. Instead, it has everything to do with embracing your values and getting clear on how you can incorporate them into every life area.

As part of my own personal growth, I took the Clifton Strengths assessment (formerly known as Strengths Finder) to gain more insight into my natural gifts and talents. My top five Strengths are Positivity, Relator, Achiever, Empathy, and Learner. That was my "ah-ah" moment. It validated wat I always knew about myself - I was meant to help others learn, grow, and thrive.

Why am I so passionate about coaching?

In short, because I know the terrain. I started as a high-achieving, stressed-out, approval-seeker, feeling many of the same things you may be feeling. Coaching was the answer, and I ultimately became a coach myself. This is my story.

By 2009, I was overwhelmed, frustrated, and filled with guilt on a regular basis. I had a common cold every other month and felt tired much of the time. It was difficult for me to relax because I was obsessed with my never-ending to-do list. I was determined to be a "good person," to "do it all," and to "do everything right." Can you relate?

I remember pulling off the highway one day because I was feeling dizzy. In a two-month period, I racked up thousands of dollars in medical bills. After an MRI, EEG, EMG, and CT scans it turned out... it was anxiety. I had no idea that anxiety could show up as twitching, stomach pain, headaches, numb hands, and dizziness. But I was experiencing it all.

I knew I needed to make big changes. I was finally ready for a schedule makeover- and a new way of living. I hired a professional coach and started changing my life little by little.

After my first conversation with a coach, I was hooked. My coach helped me identify ineffective habits and make improvements, step-by-step. I stopped procrastinating, overeating, working constantly, nail-biting, and people -pleasing. I started spending more quality time with my family. For almost two years, I took small steps every day to get organized, remove limiting beliefs, and honor the goals I set for myself. I remember  my husband saying, "what's happening here? This is good stuff. Keep working with your coach!" He and my friends saw me making many positive changes in my life, such as:

  • Starting a gratitude journal

  • Reducing screen time

  • Increasing self-care

  • Doing a daily devotional

  • Organizing my entire home

  • Making time for date nights

  • Setting personal boundaries

  • Taking solo trips to rejuvenate

I was seeing incredible change, and I couldn't wait to share what I'd learned with others. I enrolled in coaching school and completed an extensive coach training program. I offered pro bono coaching for a year and in 2011, I formed my own coaching practice. since then, I've earned 12 certifications in career and personal development because I truly love this work!
